My research is rather eclectic as regards both objects of inquiry and methodology. I fully embrace Herbert Simon's view that:

"disciplines, like nations, are a necessary evil that enables human beings of bounded rationality to simplify their goals and reduce their choices to calculable limits [...] the world badly needs international and interdisciplinary travelers".

Telecommunications, Media&Digital Markets

This is the area of research in which I'm currently most engaged, especially through collaborations at the Center for a Digital Society @EUI

Intellectual Property and Innovation

This is another core area of my research, developed particularly with Ugo Pagano and Massimo D'Antoni. I'm particularly interested in exploring the economic effects of IP and remedies to its pitfalls from the perspective of institutional and organizational economics.

Competition&regulatory policy

The final core area of my research, also pursued mostly at the Center for a Digital Society @EUI
